Urban center of Waco - February 2021 Severe Winter Storm After Action Review

In February 2021, the Urban center of Waco received a significant weather organization that combined dangerously cold weather and precipitation in the form of freezing rain, ice, and snow. As the community dealt with treacherous road atmospheric condition that prevented travel, temporary rolling blackouts that turned into days without power, and water leaks from broken pipes that threatened to shut downwards the h2o utility, the sheer grit, determination, ingenuity, and generosity of Urban center employees and community members carried the City through the emergency. As systems failed, people stepped up. Prior established relationships served to form a network of resource and personnel that worked to provide critical supplies and resources to manage the emergency. Radio Sectionalization Services

Operates and maintains the City of Waco'southward 800MHz trunked radio communications system. Provides countywide radio communications for several canton agencies. Vital Connection 911 is ONLY a part.

Currently, nosotros are in the processing of installing a 12-channel digital 800MHz trunked radio communication organisation. This organization will eventually supercede the aging x-channel analog 800MHz trunked radio advice organisation. Full implementation is slated for 2012.
